tis’ the season for snow

20121127-095959.jpgtis’ the season for snow, but not here in hawaii we still waking up to sunshine and palm trees. although it is amazingly beautiful, i could use a little snow to go with my early morning hot chocolate and whip creme. mentally my mind hasn’t grasped the whole concept of a hot christmas day where we can just head over to the beach for a nice wave or jump in the nearest pool for a swim. so to get into the christmas spirit this year we will be listing to christmas carols, lighting our monterey pine and winter curant soy candles, and watching christmas movies! with A Christmas Story being my absolute favorite movie, excited even more because my husband has never seen it!

ever spent a christmas away from the cold weather and in the sunshine? what are some of the things you have done to get into the Christmas spirit?

chocolate covered pretzels, yum

20121123-143930.jpgjust a little treat that I love to make on holidays, its fast and fun and chocolate-ly delicious!

i made these last year with pretzels sticks, this time i decided to use twisted pretzels.

pretty simple.

1. choose the chocolate of your choice, I used nestle chips + lindt chocolate

2. prepare a pot of water and heat it up over the stove, and let it heat for a while

3. take chocolate pieces and place it into a glass bowl or cup, then place glassware with chocolate in the water. carefully.

4. the chocolate will then begin to melt, stir continuously until its fully melted.

5. you then take you twisted pretzels and place it into the glass bowl (until its completely covered in chocolate), be very careful to not to burn yourself.

6. place covered chocolate pretzel on aluminum foil or saran wrap

7. spread almond pieces over the chocolate covered pretzels or (i.e: sprinkles, frosting, coconut shaving etc.)

8. repeat steps 6 and 7 until you have as many pretzels as desired.

9. place the chocolate covered pretzels in the refrigerator/freezer for about 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

give thanks

Image

everyday we are extremely grateful for life, but on this particular day we are a lot more appreciative for it all. We gather around with our families laugh, eat, tell jokes, share stories and reflect on life thus far. Its a day where the warmth feels the room and each heart, you then stop to take a minute and look around the room and thank Jesus for life, family, and love!

We are thankful for our family, friends and YOU!

Happy Thanksgiving!
